The foundation yearly donates between 3 to 5 mDKK to among others various charities in Denmark and other parts of the world including countries in which the holding company operates.
The donations are made in accordance with the deed of foundation, which comprises five distribution purposes that have remained unchanged since 1971. These are:
- Research in and fight against pollution in the seas surrounding Denmark
- Danish Red Cross, DanChurchAid, national associations combating diseases and other similar humanitarian purposes
- Research within the food industry
- Needy fishermen, their widows and children as well as charitable purposes within organizations of the fishery industry
- Individuals who – due to illness or other undeserved reason – have become needy
